A family run business with a team of dedicated and knowledgeable workers. We take pride in our work and enjoy renovating blank canvases and overgrown gardens into beautiful landscaped and useable spaces that you can delight in.
The clients approached us as a result of seeing our advert for our landscaping services in a magazine.
Susan met with the clients and walked round to listen to their ideas. Then after two other site visits the project was agreed. The front drive was straightforward and the clients decided they needed to update the look of their drive but wanted to stick with gravel. We recommended a gravel grid stabilisation system to ensure the gravel would not rut, shoes and tyres would not sink in it and it would be stable for many years to come. It was decided that flint gravel would be the best choise as the clients did not want a 'golden' look gravel.
New laurel hedging, a particular favourite of the client, was to be planted down one side and two areas with grass would be changed to make space for a bigger drive for the family. The final two elements for the front was to renew the front fence and gates by painting them and have a matching bin store in the same colour to complete the look.
There was also a side path that needed clearing and during the clearance work we discovered that the brick arch was unstable and had come away from its' foundations so the whole arch needed rebuilding. So this was factored in as well.
For the back garden, which was a beautifully long space, it was decided that the client would have three areas. A large patio area, a lawn and finally the very back of the garden would be cleared ready for the client to decide what to do with at a later stage. One of the ideas that we discussed was to have a wild flower meadow area.
The first stage was to completely clear the back end of the garden and construct new fencing where the boundary was not secure. Next we set about rotavating the ground and clearing away a small pond and rockery. Once everything had been cleared it was time to work on drainage and building the base of the patio. New top soil was bought in for the area that was going to be turfed. Laurel hedging was planted down each side of the patio as specified by the client. The patio was then completed. We were on site in this garden during the time that we had the mini heat wave therefore we held off with the turfing until a later date. When the weather got cooler we completed the middle section of turfing and gave lots of advice on after care and watering the new lawn.
This project shows that sometimes a garden can be simple and beautiful. Every garden and its owners are different and we relish in building a garden that suits each individual and family.
A guide price for a project similar to this size and similar in nature would be £35,000 - £45,000.
